The Relativity of Fear

by Ashok Sharda

I am here
The fear is there

I hold the fear here
Fear holds me there

Yes, we hold onto the fear of our past, and the fear thus grabs hold of our present, paralyzing us. The future is but a past fear growing larger, and the present being filled with closing doors. That's what I saw in a nutshell. I simply LOVE the drawing, as always, your glimpses are what sustain me and mine. Thank you.

I like the way this poem expresses simply, and brought out even more so by the illustration.

For some reason all that comes to mind is "dancing with the devil" whether that is how it is meant or not, excellent job.

mankind was a happy warrior, prior its engagement and wedding to fear and now that it is miserably wed to it, neither embraces the other, saving to smell if the other is wearing strange perfume, indicating hanky panky on either end.

Such profound truth in so few words. This is masterful, Ashok. Thank you. This will definately go in my favorites.

Certainly fear twists and turns and entangles! Great illustration!

An unseemly emotion we can ill afford, yet a fitting place for both, as if to keep a watchful eye and chase the mindful cringe. pe4ce...

Ashok, the important part of this picture & poem (for me) isn't the fact that fear entangles the image, holding it to a certain place, but that the face is closer to the "relativity of fear" line than it is below the two lines where fear is holding you, or below the bottom line. You may be entangled with fear; it may even paralyze, but the realization of its relevance in your life helps you walk through it and walk through it at some point. In many ways it's an odd reciprocal relationship - giving fear power to hold you and holding onto fear as some kind of false security -in this case they are not mutually exclusive.
