one more life

by Michele Schottelkorb

in the dark still moments

of our yesteryears

i shall sit upon a rock

absolved of mortal fears

gazing to the setting sun

crashing through ocean ceiling

remembering truth be told

life is but a feeling

{what you sacrificed for love

what you saw in me

what i gave away for you

what i found to believe}

and i will sip upon elixir

pray to sacred gods unseen

for one more life to spend with you

playing tag with me

You set such a vivid mood of quiet, dynamic reflection and capped it with a wish only those who have loved and been loved can appreciate fully. Beautiful work, Michele.

Oh how beautiful. I have a sitting on a rock poem too, called On a Cool Stone. It was a summer poem too. Maybe I'll post it soon, after re-editing. I love yours.

Yes, beautiful poetics from start to finish Michele. I especially like the ideas of being absolved of mortal fears and the last two lines.

this poem so captivates, so moves me to otherworldly feeling, and I would foolish try to tell you in words. And what are poets but words, and would more foolish try to add beautiful to the mix and say dear Michele these words of yours are simply beautiful.

Ahhh, Michele, you've hit another nail on the head (I don't recall being born a nail, but...). This is beautiful, and takes me to places I've visited many times in this life's thinking. It reminds me of one relationship in particular, one that I fully believe I will encounter again in another life. (Infact, at the end of my poem "Life is fragile", I make a reference to that very thing)

Intricately woven - spell like with its magic & charm :)

This is the greatest tribute one can offer to the one you love. 'One more life', hardly one hears these days. And that too, after having sipped the elixir of life. Beautiful.

This is very a beautiful piece Michele, truly, "remembering truth be told life is but a feeling" - I love this line for I have never heard 'life' described in such a way...as a 'feeling'...but most certainly it must be!! How clever. But most of all I love the sweet and tender ending, the depth of feeling and the playfulness together combined makes this poem sing with a truth...a definition of love that cannot be defined in words, and yet here you have come so close...for Ashok is right, what more of a tribute can one give to a love than to ask for just "one more life to spend with you playing tag with me" - this poem of yours is so meaningful on all levels physical, mental and spiritual it seems to me...GORGEOUS!! :-)
