Posted by Anne Engelen on 06/22/04 at 06:12 AM I like to think even if we vanish without a trace , that we won't without leaving some impact (however small it may have been)

Posted by Michele Schottelkorb on 06/22/04 at 06:31 AM ashok!!!... this mantra is phenomenal... this should be shouted out loud in every heart... oh, i so needed to read this tonight... you are a true jewel, my friend... blessings... |

Posted by Rula Shin on 06/22/04 at 04:58 PM A beautiful poem with a lovely song-like quality...I think maybe we should sing this around a campfire at Pathetic Fest to lift high our poetic spirits! :-) "We have every thing to lose Other than the moment we are in So why not Live this very moment Like we have never lived before?" - The question is 'why don't we ever live in this very moment'? Why do we live mostly in daydreams, pasts and futures when this makes no sense at all? I wish I could come up with a good tune for this, some harmony even...I'd sing it all day long as a reminder and hum it when I couldn't sing! Gorgeous piece of poetry my friend :-)

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 06/22/04 at 11:00 PM Ooooh, I'll sing harmony with Rula!! Infact, I'm with Rula all the way on this one. Ashok, this is probably my favorite piece of yours yet. |
Posted by Anne Howe on 06/23/04 at 03:27 AM yes, being in the moment can be both difficult and rewarding ...yet what other time is there as we can never physically relive the past nor propel ourselves into the future .... good read :) |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 06/23/04 at 01:12 PM I really like the philosophy of this piece; adds new meaning to the expression Carpe Diem. I also like its flow and rhythm/repetition...quite lyrical. Hat's off to ya sir. |
Posted by Maureen Glaude on 06/23/04 at 01:23 PM This is the philosophy of the "now" that I do best to remember and find it really helps in my life. Of course, sometimes the moment at hand is a tough challenge too, but then, it little bites, it's easier. And when it's beautiful, cherish it. |

Posted by Jon-Jacob F Deal on 06/23/04 at 03:49 PM I like this poem, both for its succinct writing, its important message, and its easy accessibility (many of your other poems are very abstract). Very nice!
