I STOP when I walk

by Ashok Sharda

I STOP when I walk

I SEE

When I STOP

I STOP

When I walk

Step in step with time

Author's Note: Its just a fill, in the gap.

I like the way the two stanzas are shaped so they can be written onto a littly triangular piece of paper to carry around for future reference hahaha - "I STOP when I walk...Step in step with time" - and when you stop you "SEE" the truth...I really like the way this is presented, the repetition of the title in the body is subtle despite the short length of the poem. I think because the poem has forward momentum - logical deductions explained simply, but one must think hard on what it all means! hahaha Brilliant as always Ashok, one I can easily remember and recite back and as you know this is very good for me haha :-)

or, it's just a brick in the wall... stop and see and keep in time... another lesson to learn, put quite deftly by YOU...

I never thought I saw the putty tat in the first place or last, to stop, meaning I thought I had arrived and when I arrived, I commenced.

I like how these opposite actions work together here, balance each other out.

Great observation, Ashok. I see your stopping time as a sight to behold. You always leave the reader with something to come away with, like time in your pocket. Pe4ce...

Absolutely and amen, Ashok.

Profound! Isn't it amazing how sometimes something said seemingly so simply has so much depth! That is true of this deceptively simple poem.

stop thinking / and categorizing / and remembering. tick tocking the rhythm of the Earth... The simplicity is divine and profound. Bravo, Ashok.

thought provoking Ashok...I had to STOP to properly rationalize this one...thanks for helping me to realize what it was that I was doing...a timeless (or timely) lesson indeed! ;)

In each piece of poetry is a life lesson... and this I think is one of your finest pieces

Time being a framework for some realities, walking being the necessary mode of travel, seeing, TRUE seeing, only occuring when one removes one's self from both time and motion......?

I see when I stop, I stop when I see. Good one Ashok.....Charlie
