Playing with God

by Glenn Currier

Do you mind
if I write poetry
instead of praying?

     How could I begrudge
your time with your poet's pen?
     Run and play with it,
     I will tag you
     when you are still
.

at times, a poem is a form of praying, depending on the theme. This is a lovely reflection, question, approach here.

my sentiments are with you Glenn. hoping that our poems will be our saving graces. hopefully they are the vehicles through which we express our pent and real or artful emotions, as well as the sincerity and fruits of our hearts and souls. when a soul contains and releases from its depthts the poems which are its full expression of a life lived, is there a need to look further to try to understand how that life was lived who that soul was or was trying to be or say outwardly and what it feels?

Now there is an amazing concept. Your stylish verse appears to be a jovial conversation with God, how fresh that is. This brings to mind the series of books by Neale Donald Walsh, with a splash of Zen. Pe4ce...

How I see myself as well Glenn. Poetry is my religion. Thanks for the well worded reminder!
