Sucking Sweet Tarts by Max BouilletMy mother always said
I would die in a
car crash, while
choking on a sweet tart,
adjusting the radio,
driving with one hand
out the window
flipping off the red-neck
in the four wheel drive truck,
dropping my cigarette
between my thighs,
reaching for a can
of soda spraying the windshield,
and driving ninety five in a twenty
five mile an hour zone.
And no mom, I didn't have on clean underwear.
But when I got to the pearly gates
they told me where I could find a new pair.
They were on the bulletin board along with the
story of my accident.
In eternity for less than
ten minutes and Ive already found out,
that prank angels run amok. 06/28/2003 Posted on 06/29/2003 Copyright © 2026 Max Bouillet

| Posted by Ken Harnisch on 06/30/03 at 01:29 PM LOL..and my mother never talked to me about such things...but if she had, I now know what she would have said! Can relate to this BIG TIME, Being an old cold can between the legs kinda guy and a radio knob fiddler from way back when..:) |
| Posted by Amber B on 07/01/03 at 04:25 PM heehee... kinda reminds me of when I first started to learn how to drive... and how I drive now. Its a wonder they don't pass a law here against ALL distractions in cars, nevermind the cell phones. lol. But for me you'd hafta replace the cig with some lip gloss. lol. Fun fun read and comes real close to home! :) |
