Mockinword

by Kate Demeree

It is raining
Streams of consciousness
Pouring through
A steady drip drop drip
Washing the pain
Inside and out
Mocking the drought
Of words and emotions
Curling Catlike
Between the drops

The words leading me
To wild abandon
The moment I place them on paper
Running amuck
My vain attempts to gather them together
In any semblance of coherent thought
Only serve to scatter them farther
Still I have penned a short verse

The child does the parents proud! Metaphorically well brought up!

Nice piece. The water associations were well crafted.

An excellent description of the questioning of purpose in writing and the inability to sometimes put forth what we are trying to say. In this you have poured out those feelings here so well. Congrats to you both on this newborn!

Opportunistic poetry, Kate. For nothing to say you've certainly stated your case in fine fashion. Aptly titled too. Peace...

What watermusic you two make together! So many images connect with me, the cat, the mockinword (sounding a bit like one of my favorites - Mockingbird), the rain. We have been getting an unusual amount of rain here for June... but I have enjoyed it... Good work, my dears.

and yet I know you'll find that lasso to bring such mockinwaywords under your spell ( mispelled or not )
