I am

I am
The steamy spray
Of the shower
Landing in the sweet
Smelling softness
Of your hair
Sliding over your forehead
Upon your lips
Gathering momentum
Running down your chest
Stopping for a moment
At your belly button
I journey on
To the south
At your groin
Down your thigh
At your feet
Flowing into
The earth

The wind
Blowing softly
Bringing a spring breeze
To kiss your cheek

The cloud
In the sky
Above you

The mist
Of the fog
That rolls
At your feet
Wraps itself
Around your form
Caresses you
With a touch
Moist and

The cloud
In your sky
That claps
As your
Lightening form
Flashes by

The ocean
Washing up
Onto your sandy shore
Lapping softly
Flowing away once more

I am
To you

what can compete with this notion of warmth and mist and this closing stanza, lovely of lovelies, I am forever returning to you?

This beautiful poem flows into all the beautiful a forever can be, Kate. One simply breathes your words and is taken to dream...Lovely!

Beautiful poetics, imagery Kate. I like how thing can be taken both as to a human lover, but also to the seashore.

Even more powerful and sensual than when I first read this all those years ago, Kate.
