Poetry Thoughts

by Charles E Minshall

I dare not think of poetry
When preparing for the day,
For shaving cream I've found
Does make a bad hair spray.

Cortisone I discovered
Has a horrible taste.
It doesn't work too well
For teeth cleaning paste.

My thoughts of poetry
This morning, made my wife mad.
I couldn't blame her though
Burnt toast smoke is rather bad.

I think I'll give up poetry,
For awhile I'll take a breather.
I really scared our cat,
I put her in the freezer.

Hahaha!!! Good one Charlie. Watch out for the animal rights activist though, they frown on feline kryogenics. Peace...

I'm glad though I thought of poetry this morning and didn't resist the attraction of visiting your library. What a way to start the day!! Thanks for the chuckle :)

Unfortunately, I can relate. Funny how a poem can capture the attention in the midst of less creative and important activities. Can non-poets understand? Probably not. Good laugh to begin the day, Charlie.

Taking the mundane and turning it into such a hilarious scene such as this makes me hope that you'll never give it up. Loved it Charles!

Well as usual you are doing your job and doing it well! (Making us all giggle out loud that is!) Another tickle poem. More...more...

LOL! Now why does this sound familiar??? Either a good night's sleep or work at the office are usually what suffer during my fits of creative delirium. :o)

*laughing soooo hard* Oh Charlie! *giggle* and here I thought I was the only ditz who didn't look around while thinking poetry.... The comments are as much a lift as one could ask for and this delightful poem is GREAT!

Very funny! But don't give it up! We'd miss your observation-on-life humor. :)
