On Eden #1

by Gavin M Roy

You always keep us awake at night
I have to say that it's alright;
though I'm tired and sometimes weary
and getting out of bed can be dreary.

I can say that I would not change a thing
even when your crying makes ears ring,
And when a headache starts to pound,
You persist to make such sound.

I wouldn't trade you for every dollar
no matter how much you scream and holler

But your mom says we may have to.

Author's Note: Just a comical look at parenthood with a new baby. Michelle would never say such a thing, just made me chuckle.

Precious moments engraved into ones mind that offer a wonderful perspective on ourselves. Good stuff Gavin. Peace...

LOL!! A reminder of those days when at times as parent one felt the urge to "throw the baby out with the bathwater"! Indeed, a good chuckle.

of course we'd never say such a thing, but the absurdity makes it funny. it is filled with affection, thanks for a laugh, good poem
