READY TO BUILD? (Romantic)

by Vimal Rony

Is your love gonna be strong
like Rapunzel's hair
letting me climb into the
fortification of your love?
Or
is it like waiting
for Monalisa's eyebrows
to grow back?

Did you meet Delilah recently?
Was she still clutching
Samson's strength?
Or
Did she cut yours
my Rapunzel?

Are u still the Nightingale
of Florence?
Or
have u pawned your heart
to Shylock?

Dear,
How about
you my Mumtaz
me your Shahjahan?
Let us do it
Our Tajmahal is pending

Since the moment I saw the Taj Mahal I felt such an incredible presence there... I can still smell the gardens and feel the marble dust on the walls... ah, to be Mumtaz to Shah Jihan... I also read that, during their wedding celebration, the Shah had the streams filled with rose petals to lend a loving fragrance to the air... Okay, sorry, you got me all caught up in the moment.... Now I can laugh - waiting for mona lisa's eyebrows to grow back? That was funny... but the ending... oh, the ending and all of the lore and love and devotion!

I think Vimal, there is something to be said about the missing eyebrows, which seem to enhance the mystery of the sitter even more although Da Vinci needed no such ploys to create such. The sitter in this case is supposedly Leonardo himself, at least that was the rumor. provoking work, Vimal.

Breathtaking poem and suitable backdrop Vimal. This poem is truly Ready To Build on your past successes here.

One of the worlds most beautiful structures. Your poem goes well with it....Charlie

Even today 45 years after I first heard it, I agree that it is one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Unlike Mara I have not smelled the dust nor touched the walls, but your poem is wonder-full and makes me yearn for the the world it speaks. Beautiful, Vimal, including that gorgeous background.

I love the way you alluded to old fairy tales and Shakespeare plays and others...

Very powerful images that ellicit many thoughts. Great allusions and relationship wisdom.

With my old eyes I found this poem too difficult to read in yellow. Sorry!

OOPS! It is not only my eyes getting old! Duh! I didn't let it fully post. Quite a background for this literary filled allusions. Intriguing analogies. Romantic as well.

Hi Vimal, It's a good one. Love is in the air. Love the back ground picture.

Seems like filling up poems with names of places Westerners don't know really much about is the name of the game. Props and props, no soul.
