Writer's block

by Rommel Cruz

I was amused... amazed... astounded...
That a simple soap and lather*
Bubbling, floating in an old piece of paper
Will be loved and found inspiring.

I was scared... confused... frustrated...
The bubbles will fade and burst
People might want more for their thirst
But I will not be able to deliver.

I was blocked... uninspired... yet determined...
So I willed myself to write
And the Angel of the Night**
Descended from the high heavens.

Author's Note: This is in response to the comments on my writer's block. There's a 10 day difference between the two poems mentioned. During such time, I can barely write anything, just a line or two of what I like to refer to as "fragments"

To Bonnie, Cristina and Quinn, you guys inspired me to write this one. =)

To Anne, sorry if I thought you were just being nice to me. Im not used to nice witches you know. =p

*my poem called (Not your usual) Shower **my poem called Angel of the Night

Ahh! I love the way you make your writer's block seem like an underwater adventure. And you surely have reached the surface*

This is well scripted Rommel. I think you are too hard on yourself though, you have the rest of your life to write. So much time, so few words. Peace...

i used to have a poem posted of the same title.. it read "i can't think of anything." it was dumb, so i deleted it:)

Every writer deals with their blocks in different ways... your tribute is beautiful.

Nicely done Rommel. And nice to see and know that writer's block doesn't always get the best of us. Kudos buddy!

i enjoy the way you worked your other two poems into it. pretty much everybody who writes can identify with your trouble.

This is great, Rommel...this poem will inspire others with the dreaded Writer block!..;)

i like how full of internal references this is, in your body of work, while at the same time being a thoroughly enjoyable poem (i love the bubbling in the paper especially).

Well, its not the writers block but lack of impressions, which helps us refine the cruder energies and link up our centres. No doubt, we are to be blamed. We, sometimes, become unreceptive to the vibrations, which are there, where as we are not. The associations sometimes helps us to unblock this so called writers block. I enjoyed reading this immensely. Thanks Rommel.

Hi Rommel, And you have writers block. Sure is nothing wrong with this one. Very good. I wrote one called: Having Writer's Block? Don't be so hard on yourself. Jean

It certainly is hard to keep up with your own expectations sometimes and stay inspired. Very well put to verse.

re-reading this now, i have to smile. it's a very good thing to read again the works of one's favorite authors, time tends to erase the memory of how enjoyable their work is when one doesn't keep up.
