Leaves of Frost by Glenn CurrierAwoke with leaves of frost upon my eyes The silken tent October birches in a vale The silver hair crept in before sunrise Awaiting resurrection - I inhale
Asleep I breathe among these leaves I'd lost A brother waiting patiently in stars In snow, in pasture not to keep the frost Don't weep - he lives in atmosphere and mars.
I've seen in eyes the windows to the soul - Bereft, bravodo, fear, and bond and free But never heard a song or story told
A poem could pierce the heart and make it see. 10/23/2002 Author's Note: With gratitude for Robert Frost

Posted by Betania Tesch on 10/24/02 at 12:04 AM I always found such comfort in "Stopping By the Woods On a Snowy Evening" and other such poems. I'm not a big fan of his, but he always seemed to have a sort of American rustic quality. And you, Mr. Currier have much the same. |
