And Heaven Too

by Chris Sorrenti

I sometimes like to gaze
upon my own galaxy
though it only be words

Outside the box
so to speak
or better spiral
marvel at how it
sparkles and shines
radiates its own energy
not only to its creator
but others who
happen upon its aura

As I ask them
how many stars and planets
have they time to explore?
how deep into my universe
do you want to go?

While at 68
some days the memories
good or bad
in-between
still manage to
knock the wind out of me
as I ponder all this
and Heaven too

Wonderful, though provoking work, Chris. What would galaxies be, lacked they words of which we bards are composed. Where would humans derive pleasure and insight from, lest words illustrate the way? You are sixty eight. I’ll be seventy nine in a few months. We are fortunate to still be around and doubly fortunate that we are still writing and loving every opportunity to do so and triply fortunate that this site is still afloat, heading who knows where?
