We all have a dark place
inside ourselves
and now
I have found mine
only a few feet in depth
sometimes
while otherwise
deep as a mile
depending on
circumstances
beyond our control
but as a friend
now dearly departed
once reminded me
we all have the ability
to heal ourselves
climb out of the hole
but until that day arrives
the only good thing
about a dark place
is the light that shines
from above
