Jesus, Don't Be Slow

by Chris Sorrenti

Jesus,
don’t be slow in my final hour
I’m tired of this roller coaster ride
of playing the game
fighting the fight
jumping through other people’s hoops
a hapless sealion
set adrift and seasick
from the constant bobbing up and down
it’s all gone by too fast
as the elders long departed warned
only yesterday it seems
and tempting as it is
I’ll not take my own life
the cowardly thing to do
too many others let down
so, Jesus,
please don’t be slow

A plea, a song, a different approach from you, Chris. Very heart felt. I like the structure. Thanks, Chris.
