Ides of March

by Chris Sorrenti

The number of years (sixteen) isn’t important, but it was on this day, March 15th, 2006, we had to say good-bye to our dear friend, poetic patriarch, and founder of the Sasquatch Reading Series, Juan O’Neill.

The 15th, or Ides of March, has always had a certain mystique, if not supernatural quality to it, ever since William Shakespeare wrote it into his famous play, Julius Caesar, who was assassinated on this date in 44BC.

What better day then for Juan to cross the rainbow bridge. And just in time for St. Paddy’s Day in Heaven, you rascal! We miss you old friend. Save a seat for us at that Royal Oak in the sky.

Always good to read tributes to special people in our lives. Their influence lives on.
