A Good Day

by Chris Sorrenti

morning coffee
poetry and Facebook
before chores

garbage
litter boxes
dishes

12cm of snow
no sweat
local kid with shovel
comes round as usual
for a quick 20 bucks

groceries
vital medicinals
bought yesterday
no wine

in preparation for
PVR’d 60 Minutes
Jeopardy
afternoon nap

rib steak
thinner these days – same price!
pan fried potatoes from last night
with a little Canola
mushrooms
add salt to taste
ice cold water

a quiet day
quiet life
and house
unlike years gone by
the way some like it

after supper
dozing through news
then off to bed

what else can one say?
but simply Saturday again

and don’t forget to set those clocks ahead

Glad to read about someone's good day, activities similar to our own, our routines that keep us grounded. Thanks, Chris.
