Bladewalkers by Laura DoomWe are alike in so many ways:
breathe the same toxic air,
walk the same violent streets
talk the same dystopian trash
live the same dysfunctional lies
share a lack of empathy
that controverts humanity
and sleepwalk naked, side by side
through trauma's emotional void;
if we had friends
they would say
we were made
for each other.
If we were friends
we would find that amusing
but we are the future
where dissonance becomes us. 02/13/2021 Posted on 02/13/2021 Copyright © 2024 Laura Doom

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 02/14/21 at 11:20 PM Yes, does misery love company or just parallel the experience in the raucous crowd? How fitting this piece is for that group that wishes to overthrow but doesn't seem too interested in making positive changes. |
