by Chris Sorrenti

Today
He was taken from us
By a lunatic
This one drunk on
Catcher in the Rye

What would he think now?
Of the world left behind
Would he tear up at the sight?
Peace & Love
Just another dumpster fire
In the tragedy of Life

Don’t worry, John
It’s not your absence
That led to this
Though your departure
One of any number of things
To set us on this path

But then of course
You already know this
Having ascended
To eternal Love & Peace
