Colors in the Shade of Neutral

before the flood
there will be anarchy
then winds of progress
will bring the rain
markers for the energy
abstract colors
in the shade of neutral

one by one
they shall blossom
each a spirit gliding free
infants to be born
of the politics of imagery
each a merchant of the word

yes
the book of life
is a colorful story
for those who choose to read
it is a test
a lesson in the energy
for each reader in turn
their time will arrive
when the energy comes
to claim them

This one is intriguing, Chris, especially that phrase - "in the shade of neutral." I loved those first four lines.

I found the line one by one intriguing - a distinctive counterpart to the traditional/original rescue operation - and words as merchandise. 1982 must have been a memorable year.
One for me to chew on...
