Winter Pattern

by Chris Sorrenti

with each predicted storm
whether it be snow or freezing rain
we stock up
my son and I knowing well by now
the irregular routine
salt and shovel at the ready
enough groceries
and anything else
to last 3 if not 4 days
till the worst blows over again
and while in-between
the days growing steadily longer
gone for now
the daily trips outside

I wish we would get a good snow here in north Texas. Sounds like you guys have this down to a manageable routine. Good to see father and son doing it together. Thanks for this small insight into your life, Chris.
