A Gestalt of the Fallen Short by V. Blakea body of work,
systemically undone
and indexed, perhaps
a case study for those
less victimized
by potential,
or a cautionary tale
to pathless talent.
and for what?
some peregrine fever
of half-held sympathy?
you have clocked my terminal velocity
on downward spirals
as little but counterpoint
to hopeful outcomes.
behold, then:
the scion of the could-have-been,
with one hand to the maze wall
and no line to the heart.
sans coda,
and nevertheless the sum
of his parts. 09/16/2019 Posted on 09/16/2019 Copyright © 2024 V. Blake

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 10/03/19 at 08:10 PM I've come back to this one many times. It always delivers thoughtful contemplation, a look in the mirror for us writers or maybe any long term endeavor. Really fine images throughout. Thanks, Vince. |
