Princess Cybernaut

by Chris Sorrenti

Come fall upon us rains of April
Many beauties are born of you
Life and death go hand in hand
For something old and something new
As radical inspirations were born before
But reality refused to let them be
Evolutions of thoughts have been made to touch

Princess Cybernaut is born to reign

Proud and profane her beauty dazzles
A musical machine as never before
Assembled instrument survived of fantasy
Open your eyes / the world is yours
Give Rock n’ Roll’s children just what they need
Separate the masters like men from boys
Evolutions of thoughts are now made to touch

Princess Cybernaut is born to reign

Razzle dazzle electric glitter
Ten thousand volts / a million watts
Across the universal drift
On spaceship Earth she gloriously plots
Come gaze upon her endless beauty
Oh youthful ears / you Rock n’ Roll children
Evolutions of thoughts have been made to touch

Princess Cybernaut is born to reign

Author's Note: Early experimentation with the word Cybernaut, obviously influenced by Rock music.

Especially like the first stanza. But you take us on a surprising trip. The last stanza (perhaps added with the revision)more in line with my internet search of the meaning of the word, cybernaut. Wondering where and how it arrived in the evolutions of your thought in 1974. Maybe that is the "something new." I love the poem, Chris. It was fun to think and talk about, as always confirming my estimation of your genius.
