Tried to be a poet again, but I needed beats.

by Johnny Crimson

And then came the day
he decided not to rhyme.
When run-on sentences could once again
fence him in
without defensiveness.
So without clenched fist to punch the mist
he took to savvy new sentences.
Yet savagery hid in the in between
as callous beats seeped through his fancy and new
lyrically impeccable rhyme schemes
and tag teamed his apathy and he slowly returned to rapping things.

Good one. Did you ever wonder what rappers talk like when they're not on stage? I do. ;)

Refreshingly different in its unique vocabulary/construction and message, Johnny.
