Daymare

by Chris Sorrenti

Dreamt we were together at a may day campground
shoulder to shoulder we lit the fire
though an argument soon arose to the height of our flame
as happiness stumbled like a newborn fawn
waking us up from our favorite dream

The vision’s still sharp enough
to keep both of us focused
no need to harikari on the razor’s edge
there’s too much turmoil in the world as it is
so shake me to slumber dear and never let go

I panicked for a moment
though it was only a daymare
a wolf on the prowl circling in the woods
but we fell back asleep before it could reach us
no fear only love inside the haze

"there’s too much turmoil in the world as it is so shake me to slumber dear and never let go" - I wish your dreamy font style translated into this window, but those are my favorite lines, and you leave us reassured. Thanks, Chris!
