Magnificent Obsession by Chris Sorrenti
I have a magnificent obsession
that shields me from the madness
a magnificent obsession
that protects me from the pain
like an endless supply of Librium
coursing through my veins
impervious to the war raging all around
I have a magnificent obsession
with my brothers and sisters
imperfect as we all may be
feeding me their essence
in a bottomless chalice
giving them stanzaed reflections
to fill their own cups though
some of them don’t talk to each other
nor anymore to me
but I have my orders...
“Don’t try to make sense
of the well placed mess
your job simply to write it all down
whichever way you see it”

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 12/06/18 at 05:14 AM I love the "bottomless chalace" and the "stanzaed reflections" especially. Thanks, also, for your comment on my Christmas Traditions. I don't think my reply message to you got through (error, error). |
