Something Tells Me We're Not in Canada Anymore Toto by Chris Sorrenti
from Red Deer, Alberta to Aylmer, Quebec
the whole country has suddenly become tornado alley
freak blizzards in Toronto and Vancouver
for folks used to green Christmases
yet little snow in Ottawa
when as a kid I can remember having to shovel every other day
drought across the prairies
following a flood in Winnipeg
and who can forget the ice storm of ’98?
paralyzing everything from eastern Ontario to New Brunswick
judging by the headlines
the whole mess a reflection of the world at large
we don’t need a meteorological super computer in Montreal
to tell us there’s something wrong
despite all the technology
appears the best weather report remains a look out the window

The clouds sail by right now leaving us high and dry. The fires in California are truly horrific. It's hard not to be on alert each day. Thanks, Chris. |
