Moored in Darkness by Glenn CurrierThis day is so bright
and all seems so right
I wonder if I can stand it
I had not planned it
the clouds and rain
gnawed so unrestrained.
Early morn’s nightmare
still lingers somewhere
moored to the dark
where it won’t disembark
still clutching me in slimy grip
I’m on its derelict ship.
How can a dream be so strong
and make me feel so wrong
just a wispy demon in the night
by now should have taken flight
but here I sit in light of day
still hoping the malefic will away.

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 09/18/18 at 06:32 PM Nobody wants the malefic around. lol Seriously though Glenn, I had to look up the meaning; thanks for the introduction. Rhyme helps bring out the impact of the darkness, and you know, writing is a great way to spiritually detoxify. |
Posted by Brian Francis on 09/19/18 at 03:14 PM Nice, your selection of words , the rhyme, and the the closing are awesome. Malefic often used to describe demons and such in the reports of exorcisms. I really like this piece. --bf |
