Sad

by Chris Sorrenti

I’m feeling tremendously sad today
don’t have to paint you a picture
just look to the usual suspects
close by and all around

Sadness in that it’s still a beautiful place
despite cruelty and other assorted heartbreaks
everyday we’re fed the village bad news
it never ends

Takes its toll on all of us
a unique depression
ceaselessly humming in the background
and some can’t handle the pull

What a much better world
it would be
if each of us tried just a little bit harder
from losing it completely

And when one can't handle the pull, they pull the handle. *stellar*

Like it and I agree it can all seem inundating at times. Lately it seems more incredibly strange somehow. Nice work Poet. --bf

Cris, you say "out loud" what I feel so often. I thank you for articulating it for me. I think I am often in denial about the toll of sadness all of the conflict, anger, revenge, and rage takes on me. I sometimes wonder where peoples' souls have gone or how they get so repressed as to be unable to shine. Your poem flows easy like that proverbial mountain creek yet is has such weight. Thanks.
