Judo

by Nancy Ames

The old one spoke:

"The strength of your opponent,
his heart, his muscle tone,
his energy and talent,
he`ll use against his own.

Control his information,
he never will suspect
his final destination,
you smile and break his neck."

Judo...Karate Chop! I like how this could be an allegory for any field. More exposure by deleting the Explicit rating. Kudos and Namaste grasshopper.

Couching this in the advice of a master gives it a cool and entrancing dimension. You had my imagination and memory going to every karate or judo movie or tv series I've ever seen. But that last line snapped me out of my reverie. You efficiently describe both the light and dark side of the martial arts. Thanks for your clever, jolting poem, Nancy.
