Three Weeks

by Chris Sorrenti

Three weeks without a boss
Even though he’s a real nice guy
Three weeks to breathe unhampered
With no managerial eyeballs
Peeking over our collective shoulder
And though we wouldn’t want to work for anyone else
The tension at times quite palpable

Enjoy your vacation sir
But by all means take your time
The walls won’t come tumbling down around us
See you in 21 days
Leaving just enough time
To close down the bar
Usher out the dancing girls
Finish our extended coffee break quite on time

Ha! Nice tongue-in-cheek "mice will play while the cat is away" tone to this.
