Good-bye Hello by Chris Sorrenti
in a drunken stupor
I’ve found my golden wings
singing with another gal at a campfire
but committing no hanky panky crime
and you
you’re with my best friend
just another one of the boys
our thoughts drift away
to that same daydream of freedom
not strong enough...yet
to turn adulterous
but when I try to walk out for good
you shoot that grappling hook
into my back
hello hello
I want you to go
good-bye good-bye
but I want you to stay
girl just look at me
I’m the incredible human Yo-yo
seven year itch
and I bastard at you when you bitch at me
but we still love each other
in that peculiar kinda way
you’re the feminine hypodermic
that keeps getting underneath my skin
good-bye good-bye
my bags are packed
I’m out the door
hello hello
I’m in the car
with nowhere to escape
ding-a-ling-a-ling
I hear you ringing...
hello hello
I want you to go
good-bye good-bye
but I want you to stay

Posted by Glenn Currier on 02/27/18 at 06:26 AM Oh this is genius: "you’re the feminine hypodermic
that keeps getting underneath my skin." You express the ambivalence in many attachments. And what we can do to each other. Oh the opposite sexes! So opposite, but so alluring. I enjoyed this, Chris. Thanks.
