pretty cursive aching words by April Staleinescapable
the missing of you
i’ve tried everything to forget
scalpel, bonesaw, retractor
i’ve ripped myself apart
to pour all that runs through my vessels
onto paper
pretty cursive aching words
i try to reach the deepest corners of my thoughts
the corners i can bare to usually go
i pull these thoughts and make myself read them
so maybe i can walk around with a little less
of my love for you
love for you that will never be used
i try to
bury it
say goodbye to it
run away from it
but it lingers

Posted by Glenn Currier on 02/16/18 at 01:15 AM I can see you writing your soul in cursive and am delighted that you share it with us here. I love the dive at the end into deeper waters and wish you continued oxygen for your cursive delights. Thank you April. |

Doesn't it just, sometimes for years... |
