Flight

by Clara Mae Gregory

Their future's flight

was seeded by their past-

with earmarked earnings

failing to fend off the foul.

Their duncical destinies took root

as they found themselves grounded

in the Land of the Blind

ruled by a one-eyed king

and a lying fille de joie queen.

So they stoled their freedom

on the wailing winds of wisdom,

gliding through the Heaven's light

soothed by nature's lullabyes,

riding on the wings of flight.

Interesting poem. I like the alliteration lines in this Clara Mae. That second stanza really stands out.

Glad to see you posting, Melanie. Love the flow and the word choices which add up to imagery worth the viewing.
