Flight by Clara Mae GregoryTheir future's flight
was seeded by their past-
with earmarked earnings
failing to fend off the foul.
Their duncical destinies took root
as they found themselves grounded
in the Land of the Blind
ruled by a one-eyed king
and a lying fille de joie queen.
So they stoled their freedom
on the wailing winds of wisdom,
gliding through the Heaven's light
soothed by nature's lullabyes,
riding on the wings of flight. 01/04/2018 Author's Note: slightly revised
