Songs of the Gamelan

by Clara Mae Gregory

The shadow puppets

dance on the

timbre

of the songs

of the Gamelan.

Toe tapping rhythms

lance the light

amber

in a pendapa

of glass

where shadow puppets

absorb the resonance

of metal chambers

made of brass,

hostages

in the puppeteer's

grasp.

Always a fan of puppet poems, really like what you've done here CM.

I really enjoyed the visuals and sounds in this, the puppets' fate, the dancing of light. Thanks!
