Freedom 59

by Chris Sorrenti

On the cusp of
certain future...eternity
I’m slowly gracefully
growing into this old man’s clothes

And not as pretty as I used to be
if I repulse you by my new look
then stay away
I do not wish or need your approval
to be who I truly am

However
if you find yourself
going through a similar process
and seek conversation...company
for the days...months...years ahead
no matter how many
then by all means
you have a friend

Loved those first two lines that set this up. You sound very comfortable with this stage of you. Nice invitation there at the end.
