All Over the World

by Joe Cramer

I never knew
how far I would go
all over the world.

If you dig that hole
in your backyard
(like you did as a kid)

you'll end up in China
and put the past behind ya.
There you'll find me

eating a spicy dumpling,
or a bowl of rice
with some nuoc mam.

I mean, how far could I be
when I see China every day
and yet be so far away

I don't even speak the language
so my days are fun too
the nights even more so!

So say hello, or drop on by
you never know the when or why
sometimes it's just better to go

Taiwan is wonderful. My father spent time there too. I had a real silk kimono, pearls and seashell necklaces and of course several of the beautiful Geisha Dolls. I have really enjoyed your pics on FB. My dad had a lot of pics too and yours reminds me of his. He told me how good the people are there. You look happy among these happy people. Glad you are doing your thing and living!

Wonderful poem and lovely to see that a boy's diggging has not gone for naught.
