Chocolate Is The Enemy by Chris Sorrenti
Chocolate is the enemy
you've suspected it for years
but could never find a lawyer
sweet enough to bring litigation
sticky kisses covering your face
with skin tight volcanoes
once exploded
leaving craters that envy the moon
Clearasil consultation
a total waste of time
time to break out the Tetracycline
only days later
to hide the evidence
while migraine headaches
foil wrapped at the plant
bouncing you off walls
early to bed
too early to rise
with cocoa hangover
its dark fun brings on
a bittersweet indigestion
and though inhaling
the nearest Hershey’s factory
if you could
within hours you'll be hanging
from every mirror in the house
those empty carbohydrates
having melted you in their mouth
once again

10/08/2016 Author's Note: Rosacea (adult acne) is actually the enemy. However, in my case, too much chocolate sets it off, so a good thing in keeping me from eating too much. Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 10/12/16 at 07:20 PM Well, this is the saddest thing I've read in ages ;)! Being allergic to chocolate or having this particular reaction would be a horror!! a nightmare! You've shared some fine imagery here, especially S2. Now I have to know if the darker the chocolate has any worse affects or less? |
