2 Unhaikus on Living

by Rula Shin

Screaming, complaining children
Raise a screaming, complaining self
Once buried, now rising from its grave

Death from moment to moment
Reminds ME to ease back into NOW
Living from moment to moment

Really enjoys these Rula, for their humanity and spirituality. Good to read you again.

I like the contrasts presented here; and the concept that raising kids in turns raises a new (and perhaps unexpected) version of ones self; or perhaps calls forth from the past an older version of the self one thought long buried and over-come ;) - and then the second unhaiku comes along and says "Back, get back old me. I am not you anymore" ... or something.

But "now" entails the circumstances of the first unhaiku in this series. So ... mindfullness? I.e. life is tough sometimes.

I really like how tight this feels, those intense moments that provide clarity. Thanks for this.
