Running Ahead of the Choke

by Dan Linn

Tying me to you,
our common experience,
pain, pleasure, production,
even our warring
makes you more trustworthy.
I remember it all like a ring on my finger,
it marries me to every time you made me cry,
during sex, during birth,
during all the difficult transitions.
Our food, our address, our multiplicity,
and singularity,
gather me.
My marks are your marks,
my restraints yours,
and my collar, and chain.
Drawn back on a tether
running madly ahead
of the choke's pressure.

This is really an intense read, very personal. You describe an amazing dynamic between the two of you.
