Running Ahead of the Choke by Dan LinnTying me to you,
our common experience,
pain, pleasure, production,
even our warring
makes you more trustworthy.
I remember it all like a ring on my finger,
it marries me to every time you made me cry,
during sex, during birth,
during all the difficult transitions.
Our food, our address, our multiplicity,
and singularity,
gather me.
My marks are your marks,
my restraints yours,
and my collar, and chain.
Drawn back on a tether
running madly ahead
of the choke's pressure. 09/11/2015 Posted on 09/11/2015 Copyright © 2025 Dan Linn
