How to Create a Joke by Kristina WoodhillIn the Beginning
Reach in deep
Pulling out the brightest
Yellow yoke
Perfectly round
Around and round
Spin it into a sun
Maybe a star
Better yet
A light bulb
In your own private
Cell
Where this joke begins
Its daily act
Of wall rapping
Toes tapping
Out out your spot light
Sparks out
Do I need a trap door here?
This is your stage two
Grab the yellow yoke
Sticky wet on the one hand
Shaking the other
Covered in blues
Fretted long and sung low
And now its all green
And you ask what's so funny
About green
And I tell you
Leaves laugh at a breeze,
Grasses sway and dance
Even as the chopping mower advances
Regrowth available
From the crown,
King's mirth of earth
Or sweet pickle relish green
Might relate better
To a hard boiled yoke,
Albacore tuna
Mayo
Grind of salt
Slapped silly between
Two gluten free slices
Everybody
Sandwiched,
Everybody
