CITIZENSHIP by Linda FullerClimbing up out of the ooze
I sensed my fins evolving into legs.
Thoroughly delighted by this turn of events
I sprinted off into the Devonian Period.
Zoologically speaking, I was a tetrapod,
Even though of a seven-toed branch doomed to extinction.
Naturally, my five-toed brethren bullied me,
Slinging mud, ooze, sly innuendo, and
Harsh words. Still and all,
I was a proud citizen of the
Paleozoic Era.

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 07/12/15 at 01:16 AM I like your method of sprinting off into another Period, the sly comment on bullying those who are different, and a very well done acrostic. Thanks, Linda. |
