Whispers of Lonliness by James ZealyHaunted whispers of loneliness
Fraught with fear of isolation
Winters of barren celebration
Cast aside by tears of happiness
Two souls on uncertainties ledge
Leap into moments of chance
Where trust is happenstance
Awaiting a committed Pledge
Family is an uncertain artifact
Both now and in the past
As they begin their quest
To make a lifelong pact
Blue flowered forget-me-nots
Laced by tears of rain
Weave their webbed domain
Pointing tendrils of thought
That speak silent phrases
Heard from a pointed finger
Woven with a laugh that lingers
Scribed by an astral face
Lecturing life lessons
Heard by a warrior lass
Looking for defined success
In her search for family mission
Answers are discovered by two
Who make their own path
Fought through their shared past
As they meander through deja vu

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 06/02/15 at 03:34 AM So many fine lines in this, James. You create an under current of subtle tension that completely keeps my attention. I especially love the blue forget-me-nots "pointing tendrils of thought," and this stanza "That speak silent phrases
Heard from a pointed finger
Woven with a laugh that lingers
Scribed by an astral face ". I want to know more about the "warrior lass." Thanks for this very unique poem. |
