I Did Not Plan by Philip F De Pinto
To be less than
A fascinating man
But that is what I am my love
Without your glue
To fasten in me
That fascination
Enough to gaze into your face and firmament
Which for me was sheer amazement
My love
I did not plan
To be an ordinary man
Or be half
And less than half
The man I was
When you were near
To make me feel like
An Himalayan peak
But there you are
Out of reach
And here I am
A mere hill
Frothing with ants and meek
A pup stanchioned
In his blue period
Curling his tail
Round sunlight
The acridity of its bleach
Failing to lighten it up

Posted by Nadia Gilbert Kent on 04/04/15 at 08:58 PM I can't ever imagine you any less fascinating than you've ever been, but with that said, I love the way these images collide - the hill frothing with ants to the blue pup. I'm glad I came home from my walk to this. |
