Juxtaposed by Alison McKenzieThe minutes flood me,
Delivering data at a rate
Previously unknown
To the likes of time;
Breathless on the ebb,
Staggered on the flow.
This
Belies the way we calculate
Us,
Moments and history,
Our experience unsupported
By any linear measure
We might assign.
Love, a galaxy condensed
In a locket -
Juxtaposed to its post
Nearest my heart,
Hands reserved
For you,
And you alone. 11/26/2014 Posted on 11/26/2014 Copyright © 2025 Alison McKenzie

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 11/28/14 at 03:21 PM Sweet and evocative, Ali. I like poems that use words like data, galaxy, and apply them to the human condition. Really puts things in perspective. |

For some reason those words hit me straight in what passes for my poetic soul...That they came from you, Alison, is no surprise |

In a locket -" what a brilliant phrase, Ali. I also really like the breathless ebb and the staggered flow. |
