In the Dawn Of A New Season by June LabyzonIn the dawn of a new season
beauty fails to fall
setting pale the sun
I adapt to the change
it is different than settling
the switch won't be a forever
one.
In the dawn of a new season
the power lies in simplicity
a simple splash gone in a moment
perhaps a little less cozy
than the one before.
In the dawn of a new season
I walk in the sunlight
looking for spiritual challenges
preparing for the blue soul nights
when the silence is louder than the voices;
in my head.
In the dawn of a new season,
I blow out the candles
weaving a rhapsody
of small hissing rhythms;
the large dark emptiness
cold against my hips.
In the dawn of a new season
I spin around and around
to face my heart
it disappears with each turn
playing peek-a-boo
with my eyes.

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 10/21/14 at 05:04 AM I like it just the way it is...beautiful, and great use of repetition. The whole thing works well for me. |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 12/14/14 at 03:35 PM I echo Chris. This is lovely the way it is June, all the way through. I am quite taken with the first stanza which appeals to all the offbeat and magically rhythmic senses in me. |
