Some and Still Others by Chris Sorrenti
Some looked upon the darkness
And it brought fear to their hearts
Saying there be monsters there
Still others looked upon the darkness
And saw nothing and said
Let us go into the darkness
And see what really be there
And if there are monsters
Cannot they be tamed?
But if untamable
Shall we not leave them the darkness?
Still having the light
And if there be no monsters at all
Will not the darkness be lifted?

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 10/18/14 at 12:00 PM fascinating poem Chris. there are indeed monsters in the dark. they are called poets, who invented the term. without darkness there is no darkness. without darkness there is no poetry, no darkness via which that poetry can be illuminated. a poet said that, albeit he is a monster. |
