All Their Lives by Philip F De Pinto
All her life
She had been practicing
To be Magdalene
To his Jesus
And given all her life
She has been on the brink of tears
She cried Jesus a river
On which he walked
Side by side with salmon
Red as Magdalene's hair
Until the one
Who all his life
Had been practicing to be Jesus
Encountered a water fall
For which he was ill prepared to scale
Or he lacked the faith
To leap and spawn with the rest
Of the salmon
Red as Magdalene's eyes
