Muted

by Alison McKenzie

Life is still muted, uncertain
If an actual awakening is possible.
But the heart stretches;
Eyes wish for vigor
To bleed into the arms,
While the arms, unsure of substance,
Cannot yet feel the solidity
Of anything
Beyond air.

Beautifully rendered, Ali. Subtly profound as a great poem should be.

The first two lines drew me in...as everything you write, this was profound and nicely done. "Muted" huh? No, you spoke loud and clear, my friend. Well done.
